Understanding the relationship between paid work after retirement and well-being in a European perspective
An increasing proportion of older adults in Europe participate in paid work after retirement, but it is largely unknown what they do and whether this is positive or negative for their mental and physical well-being. By filling this gap in the literature, the postdoc project contributes to two central aims of Netspar. First, the project focuses on theme 3.1. “The labour market and older age groups” of the Netspar Academic Agenda by focusing on working after retirement. Second, the project contributes to the first theme of the Netspar Research Agenda “Well-being and welfare of older people” by investigating the relationship between working after retirement and mental and physical well-being. The project consists of two subprojects.
