Netspar is a network formed by partners. Netspar has both academic partners and partners in the pension industry, including government bodies, regulatory agencies, and social partners (employers and employees). Next to financial contributions, these partners contribute research input and are actively involved in disseminating knowledge. Partners also have the opportunity to participate in the Netspar TIAS Academy Pension Innovation.

Partners play a role in setting the research agenda and research priorities. Netspar partners are represented through positions on the Foundation Board and Partner Research Council. They can also sit on the Editorial Board, which oversees publication of industry-specific papers.

Partners commit to membership for a period of four years, according to an Action Plan, and a research agenda, which is composed jointly. Most partners are involved in Netspar from its founding in 2005. Partners recognize the scientific independence of Netspar and research and publications arising therefrom.
