Fieke is owed a heartfelt thanks for her enthusiastic leadership as chair. In evaluating research papers, she always gave serious consideration to not only the quality of the argumentation, but also how accessibly the research findings were articulated. Moreover, Fieke found it important to keep up the tempo in the evaluation process so that findings could be published as quickly as possible. As chair, Fieke lead the Editorial Board as a team and she made connections between the various scientific disciplines and with the industry. As a member of the jury for the annual Netspar Thesis Awards, Fieke had an eye for ensuring both an efficient evaluation process and a meaningful presentation ceremony for the award winners. Fieke will be presenting the 2021 Thesis Awards during the International Pension Workshop in late January 2022.
With effect from January 1, Andries de Grip will be taking over as chair of the Editorial Board. The board is fortunate to be getting a very experienced chair in Andries. He is Professor of Economics at Maastricht University and the former director of the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA). He has been involved in numerous Netspar Theme Grant projects, on which he has collaborated with various Netspar partners. Over the past several months, every effort has been made to ensure a smooth transfer of power. We look forward to Andries’s chairmanship.
