ABOUT netspar

Netspar, the Network for Studies on Pensions, Aging and Retirement, is a think tank and knowledge network established in 2005. It is dedicated to promoting a better understanding of the economic and social impact of pension systems, aging populations, and retirement in the Netherlands and Europe. Netspar contributes actively to the social discourse on such matters among policymakers, scholars, and pension and insurance professionals by both developing knowledge through independent scientific research and sharing that knowledge through publications, events, and education programs.

“Netspar can play an important role as honest broker in the pension debate”
Klaas Knot, President De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB)
“Netspar makes an important contribution in making visible of the impact of scientific research on developments in society. In addition, Netspar provides post-graduate and executive education that she also offers a contribution to life long learning, which in our vision is the benchmark for the future.”
Emile Aarts, TiU
“The Netspar Track has a great deal to offer. You get a peek into the world of pensions and can ask questions about how that complex world works; plus, you start building a relevant network. Netspar gives you a chance to work with the biggest thinkers in the pension world and learn directly from them. That’s tremendously special and valuable.”
Georges de Boeck
“Netspar has been succesful in combining research and practice for more then ten years.”
Marike Knoef, Leiden University
“The pension covers about 25% of life, but we only spend 1% of our time. And that while we are becoming more vulnerable with increasing age. The focus Netspar has on pensions and the efforts Netspar delivers to bring parties closer are indispensable to society. “
Theo Kocken, Cardano
“It is very important that all generations are involved in the development of the pension system for the future. Being part of the Netspar network is an important way of achieving this.”
Ellen te Paske-Lievestro, Pensioenlab
“Netspar is a nice meeting place, which offers a lot of room for developing new ideas”
Femke de Vries, Autoriteit Financiële Markten (AFM)
“The tremendous about Netspar is the multidisciplinary character. It is extremely relevant to approach issues related to aging from multiple disciplines and, for example, compare methods. Also viewed from my own field of public health, this cooperation has a huge added value. “
Johan Mackenbach, EUR MC
“There is a lot going on in the pension world. The issues are more complex. That’s why I think it’s important that there’s a Netspar, that pensions do not just look like a product, but complement the discussion and offer a broader look to, for example, care and living. In addition, Netspar intersects the more controversial topics, such as customization and choice. That is incredibly important.”
Hedda Rennooij
“It is extremely important that the pension debate be conducted on the basis of facts.”
Bianca Tetteroo, Achmea
“Netspar is best known for its research, but also has great impact through its educational program for students and executives.”
Roel Mehlkopf, Tilburg University
