Understanding and improving pension savings of the employed and self-employed

On Wednesday, November 20, Netspar hosts a theme conference on the project Understanding and improving pension savings by combining incentivized experiments, surveys, and administrative big data – A general employed population sample with a focus on the selfemployed. More information on the program can be found below.

In this meeting the project members will give presentations about the planned research and give an update on the activities so far.

Work package WP1 (WP1) of the project develops and implements measures of preferences, beliefs and biases for a representative sample of the employed and self-employed in the Netherlands. In a later phase the elicited measures will be linked to register data of Statistics Netherlands (CBS). Subsequently, work package 2 (WP2) will use these data and utilize data science techniques to unravel potential relations between preferences, biases and beliefs on the one hand and actual savings behavior as well as other relevant socio-economic and demographic characteristics on the other hand.

During and at the end of the meeting there will be time reserved for questions and discussions. The project members are looking forward to feedback and input from the Netspar Partners as well as interested researchers.
