MASTER EDUCATION
MSC TRACKS 2019
Netspar teamed with Tilburg University (TiU) to offer a Pensions, Aging and Retirement (Netspar) Track in four master’s programs in the first semester of 2019 (2018-2019 school year):
- Master of Finance;
- Master of Economics;
- Master of Econometrics and Mathematical Economics (EME); and
- Master of Quantitative Finance and Actuarial Science (QFAS).
Alongside a variety of courses, Netspar provided a community program for the graduate students in the tracks in conjunction with our partners. Participation in events and activities was required for receiving the Netspar certificate. At the time of publication of this annual report, one of the students from 2019[1] had graduated with a Netspar certificate. Twelve students had joined the Netspar community, five of whom were officially enrolled in the track; they took the respective courses, attended events, and presented their thesis at the Student Pension Day.

Pensions, Aging and Retirement Honors program 2019
In the second semester of 2019 (2019-2020 school year), the Netspar Tracks were replaced with the Netspar Pensions Honors Program. This program is offered as part of all of the graduate programs provided by the Tilburg School of Economics & Management (TISEM), but it specifically targets four master’s programs:
- Master of Finance;
- Master of Economics;
- Master of Econometrics and Mathematical Economics (EME); and
- Master of Quantitative Finance and Actuarial Science (QFAS).
The Pensions Honors Program offers a unique specialization in pensions, retirement, and aging at Tilburg University, with the course The Economics and Finance of Pensions at its core. Along with this course, Netspar offers graduate students a community program consisting of various events and activities, such as the International Pension Workshop, interactive lectures from experts in the pensions and retirement field, and company visits. Students are eligible to receive a certificate if they successfully pass the Economics and Finance of Pensions course and write a thesis about a Netspar-related topic.
Of the students from 2019, at the time of publication of this annual report, 49 had joined the Netspar community and 29 were officially enrolled in the program; they have been attending events and have indicated that they will be writing their thesis on a pensions- or retirement-related topic.
