Presenting, discussing & chairing tips for young scholars / researchers
Ahead of the Netspar Pension Day we would like to invite you for an online information session Presenting, discussing & chairing tips.
Netspar, the Network for Studies on Pensions, Aging and Retirement, is dedicated to supporting the development of young scholars (PhD students, postdocs, assistant professors) that work in the broad domain of pensions, aging, and retirement. The Netspar Pension Day is our key academic event aiming to offer young scholars an opportunity to present their work for an audience of academics and practitioners in a supportive environment, and to discuss other presentations and/or chair a session.
Presenting, discussing & chairing are key skills in an academic’s toolkit, and require practice as well as considering explicit and implicit norms in the profession. Yet, it is not always easy to find good advice on how to do this.
In a brief online session Netspar scientific director Mathijs van Dijk will share his main tips on presenting, discussing & chairing, drawing from his own experience. There will also be room for questions.
