Advisory Bodies

The Netspar Board receives advice from several bodies. Read more about the role and composition of the Scientific Council, Partner Research Council and Editorial Board, and the role of the Theme Coordinators.

The Scientific Council is composed of prestigious international researchers with extensive expertise in the Netspar research domains. The council advises the board on the composition of the research programs and during the selection process for theme grants.

All partners are represented on the Partner Research Council. This body advises the Executive Board on research and education. Among other things, it is consulted in drawing up the research agenda and prioritizing short-term, topical research. It also advises on the funding of multi-year research. This is done on the basis of the independent scientific review and assessment of project proposals by the Scientific Council.

The Pensioenfederatie (Dutch Federation of Pension Funds) and the Verbond van Verzekeraars (Dutch trade association of non-life and life insurers) are observers on the Partner Research Council.

The Editorial Board is made up of academics and professionals delegated by the Netspar partners. This body reviews the industry-specific papers for academic quality and accessibility for pension professionals. The Editorial Board also selects the winners of the Netspar Thesis Awards.
