Mini symposium ter gelegenheid van het afscheid van Lans Bovenberg van Tilburg University

As one of the founders of Netspar, Lans Bovenberg has played a major role in the discussion surrounding the reform of the Dutch pension system. After more than 15 years of discussion, in December 2022, the House of Representatives decided to significantly reform the Dutch pension system by adopting the Future Pensions Act. The law is currently being discussed in the Senate, after which the new system is expected to apply in 2027. In the meantime, social partners, fund boards, accountability bodies, works councils, etc. and also the participants themselves still have to make many choices in order to implement the new system for their specific situation.

During this symposium, on the occasion of the farewell of Prof. Dr. Lans Bovenberg as professor at Tilburg University back and forth:
What has become of the intended goals and ideals? What are the main points of attention for the coming years?

After a kick-off by Lans, Peter Gortzak and Theo Kocken react and we conclude with a discussion among all those present.

Matchmaking 2026
 On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, the annual Matchmaking Event for the Theme Call 2026 will be held. Participation from partners is an important success factor. The Netspar Board of Directors will provide a brief overview of the available funding opportunities and procedures. Afterwards, several researchers will present their research ideas, and partners will have the opportunity to share their interests.
