The aim of this study is to add general knowledge to the debate on the relationship between job characteristics and health by focusing on factors outside of the workforce. In order to narrow down the focus of the research, results will be tested for the Netherlands only. Therefore the central question of this research is: can satisfaction with social life moderate the relationship between job characteristics and health in the Netherlands?
