International Pension Workshop

On January 18 – 20, 2017 Netspar organizes an International Pension Workshop. This event will take place at the Hampshire Fitland Hotel in Leiden, the Netherlands. The program is now available.

James Nazroo (University of Manchester) will give two plenary lectures. Furthermore, a policy session is scheduled on Thursday where Anthony Webb (Boston College) will talk about pension adequacy of Americans who claim their public pension at an early age. Marcel Lever (CPB) will talk about the optimal mix of public and private pensions, and Elsa Fornero (Uni of Turin, former minister of Labor, Social Policies and Gender Equality in Italy) presents a paper on voting in the aftermath of a pension reform, jointly with Anna Lo Prete.

On Thursday afternoon there will be a plenary session, organized by Hazel Bateman (Uni of NSW). This session will show us the value of health-contigent income products, and how fee and return disclosures affect retirement plan choice.

The other academic papers of the workshop will be presented in parallel sessions. The award ceremony of the Netspar Thesis Awards is scheduled on Wednesday afternoon.

All participants are invited to attend the guided tour in the Naturalis Museum for the T Rex Exhibition and conference dinner on Thursday. Limited funding is only available for discussants and speakers.
