Moral hazard in the insurance industry

This Panel Paper by Job van Wolferen, Yoel Inbar and Marcel Zeelenberg (all TiU) reviews recent evidence on moral hazard in the insurance industry. They discuss three types of moral hazard: ex ante moral hazard, ex post moral hazard, and insurance fraud, and detail how each is an asymmetric information problem. For each of the types, they summarize the empirical evidence and discuss the policy implications that follow from it.
