Netspar Foundation

Netspar was established in 2005, as part of Tilburg University. In 2012, the network was organized as a foundation. Activities at Netspar are carried out by the Netspar Center, an operating unit of Tilburg University.

The Foundation Board is the highest representative body within Netspar. It determines the strategy and appoints five of the eight members of the Supervisory Board. It also advises (un)solicited the various bodies of the Netspar Foundation. The Supervisory Board will ask the advice of the Foundation Board before approving the budget

Composition

All partners from the pension, retirement and insurance industry, government and science have a seat on the Foundation Board. Each partner has voting rights. The Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs is an observer on the Foundation Board but is without a vote.

The Supervisory Board oversees the general state of affairs at Netspar, with a particular focus on how the Netspar Board executes the Action Plan. The Supervisory Board also approves the long-range plan, the budget, and the annual report.

Appointment

The Foundation Board appoints five of the eight seats on the Supervisory Board. In addition, the Labour Foundation appoints two members and Tilburg University one member of the Supervisory Board.
