Winners Netspar Thesis Awards 2024 have been announced

The winners of the Netspar Thesis Awards 2024 have been announced: Christel Janssen from Tilburg University and Jeroen van der Vaart from the University of Groningen.

The Netspar Thesis Awards were presented Thursday during Pension Day by Andries de Grip, chair of the Editorial Board. The academic awards are given out for exceptional theses on topics related to aging and financing retirement. The goal is to motivate talented students and future researchers.

Christel Janssen was awarded for the Master thesis “Comparative analysis of economic consequences of pension tax systems: EET vs. TEE in the Netherlands amid demographic changes”. From Tilburg University she was supervised by Bas Werker and Bart Boon.

Jeroen van der Vaart was awarded for the PhD thesis “Health Risks in Old Age. Implications for Household Savings and Insurance”. From the University of Groningen he was supervised by Rob Alessie, Max Groneck and Raun van Ooijen.
