Research meeting: “Individual characteristics, risk-taking and robust life-cycle investments”

Netspar research meetings are aimed at academic researchers affiliated with Netspar and are intended as a platform to present and discuss recent research on a topic related to the broad area of aging, pensions, and retirement. These meetings also facilitate discussions of future research topics and potential collaborations. The meetings also regularly include informative contributions on current policy topics.
Suggestions on topics for future meetings are most welcome.

10:00h -10:15h Welcome and introduction by Saskia Ter Ellen

10:15h – 11:15h Stefan Zeisberger (Radboud University) will present his paper “The Consequences of Narrow Framing for Risk-Taking: A Stress Test of Myopic Loss Aversion”.

11:15h – 12:15h Martijn de Vries (VU) will present his paper on “Personal characteristics and robust life-cycle investments“.

Na twee succesvolle edities van het gezamenlijke pensioenevent over keuzebegeleiding, bundelen de Pensioenfederatie, Netspar en het Verbond van Verzekeraars opnieuw hun krachten. Dit jaar staat in het teken van doenvermogen: het vermogen van (potentiële) deelnemers om intenties daadwerkelijk om te zetten in actie. We verkennen samen hoe je deelnemers niet alleen bewust maakt van hun pensioenkeuzes, maar hen ook daadwerkelijk in beweging krijgt. Dat staat los van denkvermogen of intelligentie.

Matchmaking 2026

On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, the annual Matchmaking Event for the Theme Call 2026 will be held. Participation from partners is an important success factor. The Netspar Board of Directors will provide a brief overview of the available funding opportunities and procedures. Afterwards, several researchers will present their research ideas, and partners will have the opportunity to share their interests. Following the sessions, there will be time for networking to encourage collaboration between science and practice.
