After Lunch Webinar: Minou van der Werf – “Guidance on Pension Choices: Is an Online Tool Alone Enough?”

Netspar organizes this After Lunch Webinar for partners and employees of partners. Researchers will outline their latest retirement research and then receive feedback and answer questions. It is just another way we bring science, academics, and professional practice closer together.

In this After Lunch Webinar, Minou van der Werf (Maastricht University) explains explains more about the research into whether an online tool for pension guidance is sufficient.

This is a Dutch-speaking event. Questions and input on this ongoing research are most welcome.

This research is being conducted in conjunction with Lisa Brüggen (Maastricht University).

Guiding people in their selection of options using an online tool is seen as a promising method for supporting large groups of participants in a personalized way. But does guided selection using an online tool provide adequate guidance for the kinds of complicated choices that need to be made in pension and retirement decisions. Or is some kind of human support still required?

In this After Lunch Webinar, Minou van der Werf shares the results of a field experiment comparing the pension decisions and understanding of those decisions between participants who received guidance through an online tool and those who used the online tool with the support of a financial advisor.
