Pensions, Savings and Retirement Decisions
Theme 2007 - 2010

Introduction
Occupational pensions, third-pillar products, and social security benefits are aimed at guaranteeing sufficient income and financial security for the elderly. Policymakers, pension funds and insurance companies want to know whether the financial security they provide serves the population in an optimal way. This theme focuses on the microeconomic aspects of this broad question.

Theme coordinators
Rob Alessie Arthur van Soest In addition to recruiting senior and junior researchers and Ph.D. candidates, the role of the theme coordinator is to provide focus and direction. The theme coordinators are the intellectual leaders of Netspar. The coordinators of this theme are Rob Alessie, Utrecht University and Netspar and Arthur van Soest, Tilburg University and Netspar.
