Discussion papers are produced by all Netspar researchers and Ph.D. students that are involved in one or more Netspar research programs or themes. A DP aims at publication in high standard scientific journals. It is usually output of a research proposal funded by Netspar. It is published on the Netspar website jointly with a management summary. The DP's are discussed during Netspar activities.
Panel papers will outline the implications of new developments in the academic literature for policy questions faced by Netspar’s partners. The panel papers are aimed at professionals in the pension and insurance sectors and are discussed twice a year (in the spring and the fall) during one-day panel meetings. Representatives from academic and non-academic partners, as well as international academics, act as discussants at these panel meetings. All partners have the opportunity to comment on the contents of the papers during a six-week period following the panel meetings. Finally the papers are published in a special papers series.
NEA papers (Netspar Economic Advice) describe and motivate the position of the author on a policy relevant topic. In contrast to the panel papers these papers contain strong statements. This of course conflicts with Netspar’s credo of impartiality; Netspar as such holds no opinion. However the individual researchers of Netspar may very well have (and express) a personal opinion. Netspar simply offers a forum for in depth discussion. The NEA papers will be presented by the authors and will be discussed with the audience, moderated by a capable discussion leader.
Published papers of Netspar research fellows that have been published in refereed journals and books. Many of these publications have been released earlier in our discussion paper series.
Other publications are not part of the above mentioned series, but are nevertheless related to Netspar research topics and written by researchers of affiliated universities.
The menu on the left provides the titels and pdf files of all categories of papers. All papers are also stored in our research database.
