Nominees and winners on stage
Jochen Mierau (r), Mark Schouten and Kay Mennes (both l) are the winners of the three theses awards that were presented to students of affiliated universities who wrote their thesis on a pensions and aging related issue. The awards were presented during the workshop on January 31 in Utrecht. More>>

Mark Schouten (Tilburg Un.) wrote the best master's thesis: Hedging Inflation Risk. The best Master of Philosophy thesis was written by Jochen Mierau (Un. of Groningen) entitled Intra-household Allocation, Ageing, And Education in Overlapping Generations Models. An encouraging prize for the bachelor's thesis was handed to Kay Mennes (Tilburg Un.) for his thesis: Valuation of Pension Entitlements in Heterogeneous Populations.


Best Thesis Awards on Pensions and Aging 2006



On January 26, during the ABP/VU/Netspar workshop, the Netspar thesis awards of 3.000 Euro each were presented for the best Bachelor, Master of Science and Master of Philosophy thesis of 2005 - 2006 in the area of pensions and aging. ABP chairman Dick Sluimers handed the award for best BSc thesis to Lisanne Sanders (photo left), the award for best MSc thesis to Ralph Stevens (photo right) and the award for best MPhil thesis to Jérémie Lefebvre (photo middle).
