Theme Conference: Living longer in good health
Symposium: Subjective expectations of health
December 4, 2008
Woudestein campus, Erasmus University Rotterdam

Keynote lecture: Professor James Hammitt (Harvard)

Short desciption:

This Netspar theme event will focus on the topic of subjective health expectations. Individuals have own subjective expectations regarding (future) health and health care, which may differ from objective ones. Consequently, individual decisions regarding treatment choices, savings, pensions and for instance regarding life style may be influenced by such subjective expectations. So far, these subjective expectations have not been investigated extensively. Still, decisions on future health or wealth improving investments may be importantly influenced by subjective expectations.

During this Netspar theme event we will highlight the relevance and importance of subjective health expectations. James Hammitt, Professor of Economics and Decision Sciences at the Harvard School of Public Health, will give the keynote lecture.

This event is organized by the researchers of the Netspar Theme Living Longer in Good Health, coordinated by Johan Mackenbach, Erasmus University Rotterdam. More information on this theme .
