Professional Asset Management

Call for Papers and Discussants target group: scientists target group: professionals Netspar and the Department of Financial Management of RSM Erasmus University organize a one-day academic conference on professional asset management. The main objective of the conference is to present and discuss recent advances in academic research on mutual funds, hedge funds, pension funds, and other forms of delegated portfolio management. The conference will host a limited number of paper presentations with designated discussants and ample time for discussion and interaction.

INVITED SPEAKERS:
Vikas Agarwal (Georgia State University), Nick Bollen (Vanderbilt University), and Robert Kosowski (Imperial College).

TOPICS:
Possible topics to address include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manager selection, performance measurement and attribution, capital flows, investor behavior, conflicts of interest between investors and fund management companies, favoritism in fund families, governance and regulation.

    If you wish to present a paper at this conference, please send a pdf file to jhuij@rsm.nl before January 15, 2007. Authors will be notified about the acceptance of their papers by January 31, 2007. If you are interested in acting as a discussant, please also send an e-mail to Joop Huij, jhuij@rsm.nl.
